The “Kripples” are Killarney Districts Over 35s teams.
Our aim is to enjoy a game of football and to make socialising an art form!
The Kripples started in 1995 with one Over 35 team. We then had two teams in 1996 which were named after the Clubs colours (Kripples Blacks & Kripples Whites). We grew to three teams in 2000 and had four teams until 2015. We welcome a new team in 2015, the Reds. Taking our tally of teams to five. Blacks, Whites, Greys, Blues & Reds. We are in the Northern group of CCF teams.
We are currently registered in B grade, C grade, D grade, E-grade and F-grade.
We play on Saturday afternoons with kickoffs usually between 12.30pm and 3:15pm but sometimes an earlier kick-off may crop up. Games are 40 minutes each way with unlimited interchange – same as the juniors, just to make it easier on the old legs!
We also adhere to KDSC’s playing policy of roughly equal game time irrespective of skill level.
Normally we will have a “social drink” after the weekend matches and will often fire up the BBQ as well. A lot of the wives, girlfriends & children come to our matches & have a social afternoon.
We have a training session (usually just a kick-around game, attendance is not mandatory) once weekly on Wednesday evenings 7:00pm-8.30pm at EDSACC, with a drink afterwards. (There is a pattern forming here!)
The Entrance Leagues Club has been a proud and long serving sponsor of the Kripples since 2000. We hope that this association lasts long into the future, so please support them where you can.
