It what set out to be a historic day and day of celebration for the club but for saw the Terriers lose a club stalwart Steve “Hatto” Hattander in the early hours of the morning before Sunday’s clash.

With emotions around Edsacc running high due to the loss of Hatto and the fact that the Terriers were playing for a seventh league championship, the Terriers took this emotion out on to the field in the early stages of the game, starting on the front foot and capitalising on an early chance, with unlikely goal scorer Kyle Graham meeting a brilliant ball across the face of the goal and blasting it in to give the Terriers an early lead.

As the Terriers looked to double their advantage, it was Avoca’s keeper who would keep the home side out on numerous occasions going into the break.

The Terriers came out starting the half the way they left off pressing high up the field leading to the demise of the Avoca back four again, this time, it was Blake Silvers who would pounce on a poor clearance and find himself through one on one with the Sharks goalkeeper and keeping his cool calmly slotting it past him to give the Terriers some breathing space.

With the rest of the half closely contested in the middle of the pitch with neither side creating too many chances, Avoca would get their reward with 10 mins to go, leaving the final stages of the game a nervy watch for everyone involved with the Terriers. But as all champion teams do the Terriers defended the final stages of the game bravely to come away with the 3 points and claim their seventh consecutive league championships.
